Assisting residents with their physical needs is just one aspect of what Gibbs Care Center offers our residents. From its first planning meeting in 1970, when money from the Gibbs family and the Steelville Presbyterian Church launched this enterprise to today, the spiritual needs of our residents, staff and volunteers have always been recognized. Eight local churches provide services or assistance on a routine basis. From offering Sunday morning services to communion to special music to bingo to mending duty to just simply visiting and reminiscing, these special volunteers don’t let the residents forget that they are remembered and loved by the community. Local pastors are always available and very willing to assist families when needed.
